Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Firefly

Twinkle, twinkle, little firefly,
Glowing softly in the sky.
Dancing over grass so green,
Like a star the night has seen.

Blink and shimmer, gold and bright,
Tiny lantern of the night.
Children watch you float and play,
Then you gently fade away.

Through the garden, past the trees,
Riding on the summer breeze.
Over flowers, over streams,
Lighting up our bedtime dreams.

One small spark, then two, then more,
Winking by the kitchen door.
Mama says, “Come look and see—
Nature’s night-light, wild and free.”

I will whisper, soft and low,
“Firefly friend, please do not go.
Stay a moment, shine for me,
While I count you—one, two, three.”

Twinkle, twinkle, friend so small,
You make bedtime magical.
Close our eyes and dream so deep,
While your light helps us to sleep.

In my dreams I grow small wings,
And I fly to glowing things.
Firefly paths across the lawn
Lead me gently until dawn.

When the morning sun is near,
Fireflies rest without a fear.
But tonight, when dark is nigh,
I will watch you light the sky.

Twinkle, twinkle, little light,
Guide me safely through the night.
Thank you for your golden gleam—
You are magic in a dream.
